strawberry Saturday

I'm sitting here in a stupor after eating some just made strawberry jam and a few too many biscuits. I just had to have'em. If they'd been homemade biscuits it would have been so much better but I didnt' wanna take the time.
(who can resist this?)

So much for my low carb dieting plan.

Well, guess I have to look at it this way-I dont' do this everyday. This is life. Probly the only jelly biscuit(s) I'll eat for another month or more. It's been about that long since I've had one.

Tomorrow is another day. How many times have I said that before?

My dear husband had the Florida delivery guys from where he works, bring us the strawberries, some red oranges and tomatoes. I have plenty strawberries in the freezer from last yr but there is nothing like a good fresh strawberry.
I've eaten them in cottage cheese with some walnuts, in my cheerios with some walnuts. (yes, I eat alot of walnuts. Hey, they're good for ya), just plain-pop it in your mouth fashion. My mouth waters just lookin at 'em.

In another couple months we'll be getting some local strawberries, probly won't be as cheap as Florida but I do think they are just a bit better, specially if you pick'em yourself. Can't help but sample a few while your picking.

Strawberries! Oh that it were June already. (If it could just be June and all the work between then and now done, I'm thinking I would indulge the Genie offering such a wish.) But spring must come first I suppose. But how fortunate for you that spring came a little early!
Just love homemade jam and jellies especially from strawberries! Your canned jam looks beautiful! Blessings,Kathleen
