It is still cold and there is still snow on the ground. I'm hoping I can kinda store some of this cold up in my memory so that when it's 90* or more this summer, I'll not complain.

somewhere east of Nashville
We spent the weekend with our daughter and sil in TN. Had a wonderful time. my daughter and I had fun shopping some consignment shops while the guys went to a sporting goods store and to see "The Book of Eli".
Sunday evening it started raining then thru the night it froze and snowed on top of it. We wondered Monday morn if we should just wait til Tuesday to come home. A 17 mile stretch of I40 was closed for over an hour east of Nashville becuase of so many wrecks. We finally left out about 10:30 or so. The main roads were dry for the most part. It was still a bit unsettling. But we made it home. The part I was worried about in the northern mountains of NC was clear.

the 'shortcut' from Newport TN, thru to Hot Springs, NC. Think this is on the NC side. Beautiful part of the country.

I'm getting into knitting again. I started a baby blanket from some yarn I've had for awhile. It is a bit challenging for me. I'm ok with knit and purl but when it comes to yo's, sl st and psso, etc., I get a bit confused. I've had to start over already and still not sure it's going right.
We have a new yarn shop in town and I'm hoping to visit it soon. I've found a pattern for a knitted hat and scarf. I need it with all this cold weather.
Made a loaf of banana bread this evening. The house smells so good!
~~til later
