Brrr!!!

It is cold out there!! So thankful for our little warm home.
This is our yard 2 wks after the snow.
Dh spent alot of yesteray raking and picking up twigs, sticks and limbs from the ice storm.
I havent' ventured out today, thought about it but nowhere I really had to be.
I've enjoyed my day. It's been very relaxing. I had a good nights sleep last night and has felt refreshed-physically and spiritually.
I have a pot of beef veggie soup on the stove and a big pan of cornbread in the oven. Yum!!
Tomorrow is my son's 19th birthday!! Mercy, that makes me old!!
I'll be making a blueberry/chocolate cheesecake for him, well, I'm going to try, anyway.
I've been reflecting on somethings the past few days. This scripture from my devotional this morning was exactly what I needed.
Psalm 25:4-10 (English Standard Version)
4 Make me to know your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths.
5 Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.
6 Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old. 7 Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O LORD!
8 Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
9 He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way.
10 All the paths of the LORD are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.
~~til later

Love your words. Soup and cornbread just can't be beat! Hope your son has a happy birthday and the cheesecake you are making sounds wonderful! I have been given a set of cheescake pans by a friend and I have not yet tried to make cheesecake. I can't seem to decide on a recipe. Blessings,Kathleen

Good Morning Patty! I found your comment on Kathleen's blog Yesteryear Embroidery. You said you hadn't found your "life's work", and I thought I'd check your blog out. Well..I've only read up to this blog, and haven't looked further, and I already see that your heart is turned toward The LORD, and you have a dear husband and son, and you serve with them good food, and your meditate upon the WORD of God! You are Living your Life's works, which is to LOVE the LORD your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and to love your neighbor/family as yourself. You are "doing your work"! I have a friend at the being of this week that called me up and was upset because she had watched a religious show and was concerned she was doing nothing with her life for God. I told her to always remember that she was a beautiful prayer warrior, and had such a burden to pray for others, and her prayers were anointed, so THIS Prayer Life is her "life's work"! If she did nothing but love the LORD and PRAY for others as she does, then she would receive the greatest of all rewards when this life is over, and she stands before the LORD! :)
