yum-o
It has been such a cold blustery day. Well, not really too cold-temps in the low 40's but the wind has been gusty, snow has been blowing. I'm just thankful I'm inside. Although I do have to go out this evening for work.
What goes better with a cold, blustery day than homemade soup and bread?
I have several ham bones in the freezer that I need to use up. I had lentils in the pantry. So, I made a pot of lentil soup (click on the pictures to get the full effect ;) )
and have whole wheat bread in the machine, smelling oh so good.
See that big hunk of ham? I was surprised at how much meat was still on that bone!
I used the recipe found here http://southernfood.about.com/od/beansoups/r/bl30117x.htm
So, I've used what I had on hand and I made a good nutritious meal with it.
Honestly, I wish I could share a bowl with you.
I really need to get a smaller stock pot, one about half this size.

You soup looks divine! You know, we don't live that far apart (just a few hours) maybe we'll have to figure out how to get together one of these days!
Your soup looks sooo good. I'm making cornbread and black-eyed peas for dinner.... My husband's favorite.
That looks soooooo delicious!
I wanted to save my hambone (from NewYear's dinner) for a soup, but hubby gave it to our Lab! Ugh!!!
That's so neat that you made bread, too! Yummy! Homemade bread.....
Blessings,
Julie
