Spicy Walnut-Raisin Pie

Whew!  I thought we's goina get blown away last night!!
Yesterday this was over 8 in. of snow. But this morning this wind had blown til you could see the grass.  It was laying in drifts around the house.
Our daughter and sil made it safely back home today.  I'm thankful.  They have to go thru "The Gorge" on I40 into TN.  It was down to one lane and this evening the powers that be were strongly urging people to take an alternate route.

My son got into a cooking mood today.  He started looking for a peanut butter pie recipe in an older Betty Crocker cookbook and found this one instead.  This is his first time making a pie!  He did a good job.  It is yummy!
Good with whipped topping on it.

SPICEY WALNUT-RAISIN PIE

Pastry for 9 in One Crust Pie (I used bought frozen)
2 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp each salt
                   cinnamon
                   nutmeg
                   cloves
3/4 c. corn syrup (all I had was dark corn syrup)
1/4 c. margarine or butter, melted
1/3 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
1/3 c. raisins

Heat oven to 375*. Prepare pastry.  Beat eggs, sugar, salt, cinnamon,  nutmeg, cloves, corn syrup and margarine with hand beater.  Stir in walnuts and raisins.  Pour into pastry.
Bake until filling is set, 40-50 minutes.  Serve warm or refrigerate.

~~til later

Sounds yummy! We haven't had much wind-so most of our snow is still here-but melting slowly : )
Glad your daughter made it home safely! No snow, but hard winds and lots of dirt here in Texas. The pie sounds just wonderful! You stay warm and have a wonderful New Year! blessings, Kathleen

I've often heard about raisin pie, but I've never tried it. This sounds so good! Walnuts are a favorite nut around here, too.

I am so glad to find this blog. I read older posts, and I loved the one about the red skies at morning.
